The Mockingbird Society

The Mockingbird Society was born out of what might seem like a common-sense idea: if we want to know what young people and families impacted by foster care or homelessness need, we should ask them. Twenty years ago, no one was asking – today, youth voice is leading the way in building a better Washington for young people and families. Our advocacy has ignited fifty-six policy reforms impacting more than 100,000 young people - from providing access to driver's education, to higher education funding, to preventing youth exiting foster care into homelessness at 18. We are also proud stewards of MOCKINGBIRD FAMILY™, a model of foster care delivery that uses an extended-family model – bringing the village back to caring for foster children here in the U.S. and in seven countries around the world.

The Mockingbird Society is a registered 501c(3) charity in the U.S. Online donations made here will entirely benefit its work and is tax deductible within the guidance of U.S. law. You will recieve an email donation receipt as your official record for tax purposes. No proceeds go to Giving Compass.
