Mission

The Texas Organizing Project (TOP), founded in 2009, organizes Black and Latino communities in Dallas, Harris and Bexar counties with the goal of transforming Texas into a state where working people of color have the power and representation they deserve. Since their founding, TOP has been on a twelve-year path to expand the electorate and pass meaningful policy change, connecting the dots for high potential voters of color between the issues they care about and the potential for change through the ballot box. Through year-round community organizing, TOP works to grow the electorate and organized power of their base from the megametros out to the statewide level.
