Workers Defense knows that immigrant workers are the backbone of the construction industry. By creating a community-led, fact-based organization for workers’ rights, Workers Defense seeks to stop a systemic cycle of negligence, empower construction workers to secure basic workplace protections, nurture a community that can protect its own, and ultimately change the way the construction industry is run. At its core, Workers Defense is committed to construction workers and their families through employment and legal services, direct action, leadership development, community education, and advocacy, serving this industry first and foremost though many of their initiatives benefit low-wage and immigrant workers across industries.
