Alzheimer Mexico, I.A.P. is a Mexican non-profit organization that provides comprehensive care to people with Alzheimer's or similar dementia, their caregivers and family members to improve their quality of life. Its care program includes access to comprehensive programs of physical and cognitive stimulation. We work to help people with dementia maintain their skills for longer, as well as to provide guidance and advice on dementia to families living the disease process.
Dementias are increasingly frequent because age is a risk factor and life expectancy is increasing every day as a result of medical and technological development. Not only do they affect the patient, but the whole family and society. The lack of information, infrastructure and support makes the family feel lonely and collapsed. There are 50 million people with dementia in the world, a new case every 3 seconds. Are we ready to live this problem closely? We must be prepared.
We seek to prevent the collapse of caregivers and promote family functionality, as well as prevent immobility syndrome in patients with dementia and allow them to live with a better quality of life for longer. Alzheimer's disease still has no cure, but the disease can be managed as comfortably as possible.
