The Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation's mission is to eradicate breast cancer by investing in early career doctors and innovative research. We recently convened a consortium of hospitals to make groundbreaking clinical trials accessible for all breast cancer patients, especially under-resourced and under-represented communities.
1:8 women will get breast cancer in their lifetime. In 2023, almost 300,000 people were diagnosed with breast cancer, and close to 50 thousand patients passed away from this disease. With 3.8 million breast cancer survivors in the United States today, our work supporting research and treatment is more critical than ever.
The Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation goal is to eradicate breast cancer. We think the only way to do this is by funding research. We encourgage young doctors to learn more about breast health but funding fellowships in breast surgery and imaging. We fund early stage research in the form of Lynn Sage Scholars. More experienced researchers may received a two year Research Grants. And, we encourage collaboration/data sharing via the Chicago Breast Cancer Research Consortium.
