GOOD TO BE GOOD is a grassroots nonprofit advancing gender equity through programs, services, and advocacy. Our Empowering Care Program supports women and gender-diverse people experiencing gender-based violence, poverty, isolation, and marginalization. ECP provides essential relief-gift cards, transportation, counselling, menstrual and personal care, peer counselling, and trauma-informed resources-meeting urgent needs while affirming dignity, choice, and inclusion. Gender equality is possible!
Gender inequality holds communities back. Women and gender-diverse people, especially those from marginalized communities, face higher risks of violence, poverty, and discrimination. Limited access to essential supports-like counselling, housing, or income relief-makes recovery and stability even harder. Without these resources, cycles of inequity deepen. GOOD TO BE GOOD helps close these gaps by providing direct care and resources and advocating for systemic change toward true gender equality.
By ensuring low-barrier, anti-oppressive access to care and resources, our program empowers women and gender-diverse folks to meet their needs, reclaim dignity, and assert their rights. This foundation of safety and stability fosters resilience and creates ripples of progress within families and communities. Over time, these basic investments strengthen collective well-being, inspire systemic change, and move us closer to a world where gender equality, dignity, and justice are lived realities.
GOOD TO BE GOOD is an intersectional, community-wide nonprofit dedicated to serving and empowering women and gender-diverse people from marginalized communities. Our mission is to build a kind, more connected, and equal world. As a grassroots organization, we provide social and community services, advocacy, and integrated programs, aimed at co-creating meaningful progress that support women and advance gender equity. Our community-driven work centres the voices, rights, and lived experiences of women and gender-diverse people-especially those impacted by systemic inequities such as violence, poverty, and discrimination. Guided by the principles of intersectional feminism and the values of social justice and interconnectedness-we boldly envision a future that is radically equitable, compassionate, and sustainable. In solidarity, we are committed to uplifting and liberating women. Together, we harness our collective power to challenge injustice and expand a world that truly values all life.
