Creating Opportunities for Opportunity Youth and Young Adults: How Grantmakers Can Capitalize on Federal Workforce Policies to Invest in Immigrants [Webinar]

Host Organization: Grantmakers Concerned With Immigrants and Refugees

New and evolving federal workforce policies are providing fresh opportunities for grantmakers interested in supporting the career aspirations of immigrant youth and young adults (ages 16-29). In this e-learning session, you’ll get a very quick overview of the current landscape in federal policies on apprenticeship and work-based learning, including the Perkins Career and Technical Education Act, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, DREAM Act/DACA youth, and Temporary Protected Status.

Then you’ll hear from three expert practitioners about creative ways they are capitalizing on federal policy at the local level to serve immigrant youth and young adults. Share your questions and ideas for how philanthropy can build on or replicate these innovative approaches, or spark new ideas in immigrant career services.
