As part of MLK Jr. Day 2021, United Way of King County is hosting a virtual panel on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 6 p.m. to explore how philanthropy can be a way to move racial equity forward in the community.

Edgar Villanueva, author of Decolonizing Wealth: Indigenous Wisdom to Heal Divides and Restore Balance, and Gordon McHenry, Jr., President & CEO of United Way of King County, will lead off the virtual event with an exploration of the intersection of philanthropy and racial justice.

Zamzam Mohamed, CEO and co-founder of Voices of Tomorrow, as well as Andrea Caupain Sanderson, CEO of Byrd Barr Place, will also share their insights and experiences leading local nonprofits to further the discussion of how philanthropy can be a good tool to advance racial equity in the community.
