We have created the Northern Piedmont Community Foundation Emergency Response Fund to facilitate community giving through a pooled fund. Because we are just starting to understand the consequences of this crisis, we knew that a local philanthropic response was critical and we wanted to be prepared for both donor giving and community need. We believe the NPCF Emergency Response Fund will accomplish this. These are unprecedented times and we are assessing our role and how we can help daily.
In addition to health concerns, the pandemic for many will result in loss of income and limited access to food, supplies and education. Public emergencies such as this tend to be disproportionate in their impacts. We are deeply aware that the needs for some in our community will be critical. We also understand that, in our region, we are all interconnected. These connections, in a time of pandemic, create risk but also diverse opportunity. We must invest in each other, now more than ever, to provide support for others and alleviate the community-wide effects of this historic crisis.
The Fund will provide flexible resources to organizations in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison and Rappahannock counties helping to alleviate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fund will operate in partnership with local governments, schools, other foundations and the private sector to address current and emerging needs and strategically fill gaps in support.
The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation (NPCF) began in December 2000 when nine concerned citizens from Virginia’s Piedmont region were searching for solutions to the charitable needs in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, and Rappahannock counties. With modest beginnings, our funds have grown to over $15 million in support of local charities, scholarships and community need in our northern piedmont region. Today, NPCF connects people with causes they care about – human needs, education, environment, arts or any other area of concern.
Minimum Investment: $10
