The END Flagship Fund

Host Organization: END Fundmdi-circle-small New York, NY, US mdi-circle-small

The Flagship Fund, the original foundation of the END Fund, is centered around inclusion, high impact, and flexibility. The Fund aims to deliver cost effective NTD treatment, ensuring maximum return on investment for every dollar spent. With a mission to ensure that no population is left behind, especially those living in conflict and fragile states. The fund applies best practice in the sector and rolls-out new technologies and innovations at scale to reach control and elimination goals. Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are a group of parasitic and bacterial infectious diseases that affect more than 1.7 billion of the world’s most impoverished people, including more than 1 billion children. Over 40% of the global NTD burden is concentrated in Africa, where the END Fund focuses the majority of our work. They cause severe pain and long-term disability and lead to death for more than 170,000 people each year. Effects from NTDs such as deformed legs and blindness results in social isolation. Amongst children, infection leads to malnutrition, cognitive impairment, stunted growth, and the inability to attend school.

About the Host

The END Fund mobilizes resources for neglected tropical diseases, and focuses on delivering neglected tropical disease (NTD) treatments to those in need by growing and engaging a community of activist-philanthropists, managing high-impact strategic investments, and working in collaboration with government, NGO, pharmaceutical, and academic partners. We aim to take a systems approach to understanding, engaging with, and influencing the broad ecosystem of stakeholders working on ending NTDs.
