The Carolina Federation’s story began in 2018, when two long-time organizers discussed the need for a permanent base-building organization in North Carolina that combined the scale and seriousness of electoral work with the depth and relationships of local grassroots community organizing and a core commitment to the leadership development of North Carolina’s people. In two short years, the Carolina Federation has grown from a seedling idea into a full fledged grassroots power-building movement capable of bringing local people together across race and the rural-urban divide in counties across North Carolina.
