Welcome to Our 2022 Annual Reflection!

When Giving Compass launched in September 2017 in a small co-working space in downtown Seattle, we knew there was a hunger among individual donors to learn more about impact-driven philanthropy. A few months later – on Giving Tuesday – we hit our first 1,000 site sessions in one day.

Five years later, we’ve undergone some exciting changes, but we’re still the one-stop shop for donors who want to learn, connect with others, and invest in community-led solutions.

2022 Milestones

January
Giving Compass Network becomes a 501(c)(3) organization and spins out from the Raikes Foundation. We remain committed to advancing social justice by connecting donors and advisors to curated knowledge and giving opportunities.
July
Giving Compass Network acquires X4Impact, a data intelligence company for social innovation in the U.S. By making social sector data and insights more accessible, we hope to accelerate meaningful change.
November
Giving Compass gets a new look! We've refreshed our brand to represent the evolution of the organization.

We invite you to browse this reflection to learn more about our resources. We're proud of our role as a trusted connector and strive to make it easier for donors to take action. Here’s a look at some of our progress from 2022.

  1. Increased awareness of social justice issues and equity-centered resources with over 2 million views of curated articles, nonprofit stories, and best practices.
  2. Responded to major events and crises: Engaged 20,000 users with special coverage resources and guided more than 30,000 users toward topic guides to take action.
  3. Amplified 25 nonprofit stories – resulting in 3,100 pageviews – to inspire donors to engage more deeply with grassroots organizations.
  4. Expanded our nonprofit directory by 15% from 2021 and added nearly 60 501(c)(4) organizations focused on strengthening our democracy.
  5. Connected 21,000 users to issue funds and social justice nonprofits focused on advancing social justice and racial equity.
