When it comes to raising funds for a nonprofit campaign, online tools that easily facilitate fundraising are essential for organizations today. Investing in these tools will allow a nonprofit to expand their current in-person fundraising efforts and attract a wider pool of potential donors.
Setting up a website is a great first step, but a website alone isn’t enough of a strategy to ensure successful online fundraising. Below, the members of Forbes Nonprofit Council discuss tactics nonprofits can adopt to effectively increase their ability to fundraise online.
1. Establish A Digital Presence
There was a time when the idea was to have a website. Today, we must have much more: a web presence. Having a web presence and an understanding of technology algorithms encourages us to have as many touch points and points of entry for philanthropic support as possible. Without an audience's "attention," we can't ask for their support. - Aaron Alejandro, Texas FFA Foundation
2. Know What Your Target Audience Wants
Know what the audience is looking for before you throw out a generic pitch. You don't like it and neither do they! - Tony Siebers, Catholic Charities Community Services (AZ)
