We put it to our community to tell us about their favorite black women-led organizations, and here’s what folks came up with (along with some of our own favorites). We hope it might guide your giving, no matter how humble.

Girl Trek: a national health movement that activates thousands of black women to be change makers in their lives and communities  —  through walking.

The Essie Justice Group: a nonprofit organization of women with incarcerated loved ones taking on the rampant injustices created by mass incarceration.

Girls for a Change: supports black girls and other girls of color and inspires them to visualize their bright futures and potential through discovery, development, and social change innovation in their communities.

Feminist Press: an independent nonprofit literary publisher that promotes freedom of expression and social justice.
