SVCF is committed to making your year-end giving easy and meaningful. We want to share these important giving and grant recommendation deadlines, to help ensure that all gifts are properly credited for 2017 and grants are processed in a timely manner.

Charitable gifts to SVCF

  • As required by the IRS, in order for you to claim a charitable deduction for this tax year, ownership of your gifted asset must transfer to SVCF on or before Dec. 31, 2017. Please note that illiquid assets, such as real estate, must be initiated as soon as possible as complex gifts generally take longer to transfer.
  • Contributions made by check and delivered via U.S. Mail must be postmarked on or before Dec. 31, 2017, or delivered to SVCF's offices on or before Dec. 29, 2017.
  • Envelopes mailed through private mailing services such as FedEx must be received in our office by the morning of Dec. 29, 2017, to be processed as 2017 gifts.
