Beyond myself, I’ve found that purpose-driven companies often carry a double distinction of generating long-term outperformance, and creating social good. The reason is simple, groups of people brought together through inspiration and passion drive incredible results.

These days most people hate their jobs, evidenced by Gallup’s consistent finding over the past 15 years that two-thirds of Americans actively disengaged at work. We need change on an individual level, and bringing purpose to business at large scale can be a big part of the solution.
Ultimately, marrying business with purpose carries the potential to create fulfillment for employees and performance and impact at scale. Purpose provides the connective tissue across the fulfilling experiences. Purpose solidifies an organization’s reason for being and creates community through shared energy and common goals. Purpose creates trust, empowerment, and a deep passion for the work itself.
The pivot towards purpose-driven companies comes from reflecting on my career journey. I’ve been happiest and performed best when my work connected to a greater purpose that galvanized people around a shared mission.
We need to hear from CEOs and founders, magnify their leadership voice, and create inspiration and a roadmap the next generation of purpose-driven leaders to follow.
Throughout the years, purpose-driven individuals and organizations have consistently inspired me. It’s now my turn to pay it forward.
