The world’s largest non-profit dedicated to fighting blood cancers, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), officially opens applications for their third annual Students of the Year campaign, a seven-week philanthropic leadership development program through which highly motivated, high-school leaders embark on a journey of professional growth, ensuring that they stand out when preparing for college and beyond.
During the program, students utilize professional skills such as entrepreneurship, marketing and project management in order to raise critical funds, which LLS deploys to advance breakthrough treatments and to support the more than 1.3 million blood cancer patients in the U.S.
In 2018, the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter held their second annual campaign. In its second year nine students from the greater-Houston area collectively raised $350,000 in six-short weeks.
This campaign was a huge step for me into adulthood and preparing myself for my senior year of high school,” said Anson Moore, 2018 Student of the Year winner. “I recommend it to anyone who hopes to make a difference and really challenge their time management skills and social skills.”
