Given the facts above, not giving blood when shortages exist seems morally equivalent to walking by a person in the street who is bleeding out in front of everyone and only needs an hour of your time to be saved.. and walking by another person just like that every 2 months for the rest of your life. Unthinkable. It seems that we live in times where VAST profits can be made for those interested in optimizing the “moral profit” of their time, and I suspect that examples of arbitrage like the one above are just the tip of the iceberg.

But if we aim to embody moral courage.. we MUST begin the long march.. together.
