The Poetry X Hunger initiative is working to establish a platform for artists, activists, and professionals to create poetry raising awareness and inspiring action to end food insecurity.
Poetry X Hunger was founded by Hiram Larew in 2017. Larew thinks hunger is a more complex problem than graphs and statistics can convey. He believes it is one of the most intimate struggles facing humanity. As such, it can only be fully understood through first-hand experience or impactful art.
The poems featured on the organization’s website are representative of a wide range of individuals and experiences. Visitors will also find writing prompts and other helpful resources to get involved in the fight against hunger.
