If you’re reading this it means you’ve survived the annual barrage of email pleas from NGOs such as Avaaz, Greenpeace, WWF, etc. who have at some point captured your contact info and are now hitting you up for a bit of coin. Maybe you relented by donating, maybe you held out.
But either way you probably wondered: is my money making any difference? What impact do they actually make?
We have begun compiling a living list of organizations and networks, predominantly in the global South, who are doing good work that we feel should be supported more. We should offer the caveat of #NotAllBigGreens — so some of the better international NGOs are also included in the list below .

Alternative Information and Development Centre, South Africa
The Centre’s Million Climate Jobs project is conducting key research on how to achieve a Just Transition away from the fossil fuel economy.

Asian People’s Movement on Debt & Development
APMDD is a regional alliance of peoples’ movements, community organizations, coalitions, NGOs and networks which believe in social transformation that is all encompassing and interrelated. They demand accountability and the fulfilment of responsibilities and obligations of governments and inter-governmental institutions, and therefore seek to transform national and international economic and financial relations, structures and systems.
