The Women’s Giving Circle offers local women the opportunity to network, learn and make their philanthropic dollars have a greater impact.

Community leaders Dr. Paulette Brown-Hinds and LeeAnn Faucett wanted to create a vehicle for women in Riverside and San Bernardino counties to leverage their dollars to support what matters to them. They did so after seeing statistics showing the power women have in philanthropy.

According to a study released by Fidelity Charitable, women are more spontaneous, engaged and empathetic when it comes to their giving. The report also stated that Millennials are open to trying new forms of giving, such as crowdfunding or giving circles.

The giving circle also hopes that younger women will get involved, which will impact the future of regional giving. There have already been inquiries about giving memberships to young women as a gift, which Brown-Hinds encourages. She comes from a family of philanthropists and became engaged in giving at an early age.

“What I think will happen is that when we get women in the room talking about charitable giving, being educated and getting inspired, we will have several circles that spin off of the main group,” said Brown-Hinds. “It could benefit the entire nonprofit community.”
