You’re invited to share original images. If those are not available, we will include an appropriate licensed image based on editorial discretion.
We reserve the right to make editorial changes to match the style and brand promise of Givingcompass.org.
If you want to include a video, it should be original content, published in YouTube or VIMEO, free of advertisements and maximum 3 minutes long. Please include URL with your submission.
Content Focus
Our role is to orient donors to an issue or approach: inform them about why it’s important, where they can learn more, how they can connect with others, and how they can take action.

- Equity: Ensuring resources and power are fairly redistributed so all humans experience dignity and opportunity.
- Effectiveness: Drawing on evidence, collecting feedback, and evaluating progress using quantitative and qualitative data.

- Transparency: Centering beneficiaries in the co-creation of solutions, ensuring integrity and accountability in processes and relationships.
- Orient donors to an issue with specific, actionable advice
- Be data-driven – must cite sources, include links
- Connect readers with leaders related to an issue
- Serve as in-depth exploration of a news story
- Profile an impactful organization or person
- Provide peer-to-peer perspective (what other philanthropists recommend)
Format
Article length: 500-800 words
Article structure:
- Introduction to an issue/problem
- Information on potential solutions, current efforts, etc.
- Action items for donors
- Link to organizations
