COVID-19 has laid bare the systemic inequities built into our world. We are writing to share that we stand with you in this challenging time. Now more than ever, feminist solidarity, individual and collective care, and healing justice are needed.

We’ve taken the following actions, and encourage you to reach out to us if there is more that we can do to show our solidarity and ease your burden at this time:

  1. Our flexible, core support is already designed for grantee partners to utilize in ways that they feel are best for their organizations and communities.
  2. We are more committed than ever to our feminist funding principles, including flexibility.
  3. We’re reimbursing all costs incurred by grantee partners relating to canceled events including the Commission on the Status of Women.
  4. We have suspended nonessential travel and are postponing all in-person conferences/meetings until further notice.
  5. We call on fellow funders to join us in modeling feminist values and flexibility in their funding in response to this global pandemic.
  6. The work continues. We know already, for example, that policies and public health efforts have not addressed the gendered impacts of disease outbreaks.
