Artificial intelligence will disrupt labor markets and the global economy. It will help medicine, health, and sustainability, and challenge building an inclusive economy. Tech companies will benefit, but governments must lead on addressing its negative impacts.
The NextGen Network of 130 millennials from across sectors and countries decided that human-centered, transparent, and accountable artificial intelligence is essential to work towards the future they want. The NextGen Report: How AI can work for humanity (www.aspennextgen.org) outlines perspectives from the Network around how artificial intelligence could address major societal challenges and reduce the technology’s negative impacts. Conversations with NextGen members, including a survey (link: https://www.aspennextgen.org/results), show how this technology could be ethically developed and deployed.
Join the Aspen Institute’s NextGen Network and Microsoft to hear from policymakers on how technology could support governance, economic stability, public health, and international security around the world, and what policies could alleviate challenges young people will face.
