One of the most sacred elements of HIP is our comunidad. Together, our members and colleagues are at the forefront of the issues most affecting the estimated 60M Latinxs. In recent years, our annual HIP Leadership Conference has evolved into a platform where philanthropic leaders, nonprofits, and the business sector share resources and collectively address current affairs. This year, we were looking forward to hosting our gathering in Los Angeles.
In the face of the COVID-19 crisis, we know that collaborating, sharing best practices, and providing support to one another is of even greater importance. It is for that very reason that we have decided to transition the conference to a virtual format on June 2 – 3, 2020, rather than delaying or canceling. While we will greatly miss the opportunity to be together in person in Los Angeles, we know that there are no barriers to our solidarity, and we are excited about coming together online. With the exponential pressures facing the Latinx community due to the pandemic, we need to pool our collective expertise and energy more than ever.
