Advancing Economic Opportunity for Immigrants & Refugees [Co-sponsored]

Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees

About

Across the country, immigrants and refugees serve as a catalyst for community revitalization and an engine of economic growth. While newcomers possess an entrepreneurial spirit, they often have limited access to asset building products and services, and many first and second-generation Americans struggle to achieve long-term financial stability.

Join Asset Funders Network (AFN) and Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees (GCIR) as they present new research highlighting opportunities to advance economic prosperity for immigrants and refugees. The presentation will focus on the research findings by author Dr. Manuel Pastor from the University of Southern California, including a demographic overview of the existing immigrant/refugee population; their economic conditions; and challenges to living more financially secure given the current political climate.

Confirmed Speakers:

Dr. Manuel Pastor, USC Program for Environmental and Regional Equity (PERE)
Andrea Luquetta, California Reinvestment Coalition (CRC)
Isaias Hernandez, Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF)
Rudy Espinoza, Leadership for Urban Renewal Network (LURN)
