Advancing Racial Equity: A Conversation with Nicole Lynn Lewis

United Way of King County

About

Join us to hear from author Nicole Lynn Lewis about her own experiences and the importance of college completion.

About this event:

As part of our Advancing Racial Equity event series, United Way of King County is excited to welcome Nicole Lynn Lewis to our community. Join us to hear from Lewis about her own personal experiences and the importance of college completion.

Nicole Lynn Lewis is the co-founder and CEO of Generation Hope and author of the memoir, Pregnant Girl. Lewis is a former teen mother who put herself through the College of William & Mary with her three-month old daughter in tow. Nicole now works every day to change the statistic that less than 2% of teen mothers will earn their degrees before the age of 30.

The proceeds from the ticket sales and donations during this event will go to support United Way’s Bridge to Finish program that helps college students get the services they need to stay in school and complete their education.

Live captioning will be available and ASL can be provided upon request.

Please RSVP by 10/11

The Zoom link for this event will be included on the confirmation page and email and will also be sent out closer to the event from an Eventbrite address, which sometimes winds up in spam folders.

United Way is committed to making all of our events accessible. We will have live captioning during this event. If you require ASL services please note that when you register and please allow us 2 weeks notice to ensure we can secure an interpreter for the event.
