This series presents an open and reflective discussion on NEID’s recently released Racial Equity in Global Philanthropy Report. The public session will highlight the recommendations of the Commissioners involved in the creation of this report regarding ways global donors can move their work beyond values statements into full operational integration. Themes addressed in the report include: local vs. global equity frameworks, how colonial norms continue to manifest in development practices, donor accountability, aligning actions and investments with equity values, and more.
It is our intention to expose global donors to practices and approaches that can make a big difference in creating more solid relationships with grantees and ultimately lead to more sustainable solutions globally. In this series, global donors will learn practical approaches that can easily be translated into action.
The Network of Engaged International Donors limits attendance to donors only. Donors can sign up for the whole series at a reduced price or sign up for individual sessions.
Part Three: Accountability will include a presentation and moderated discussion. The series will provide a safe space for global donors to reflect as well as practical how-to tips that will take global donors deeper into effectively recognizing power imbalances and restoring equity.
Part Three is focused around fostering donor accountability towards grantees for equity. The presenters will discuss transparency and decision-making processes as well as broader issues related to donor accountability.
