As we approach the one-year anniversary of the uprisings of summer 2020, sparked by the police killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, Dion Johnson, Rayshard Brooks, and far too many others to count, we invite you to join us for a special virtual panel with partners across the divest/invest movement.
Tuesday, May 18, 2021
10:30am - 12pm PT / 1:30 – 3:00pm ET
Panelists include:
• Kayla Reed, Co-Founder & Executive Director, Action St. Louis
• Karissa Lewis, National Field Director, Movement for Black Lives
• Mariame Kaba, Founder & Director, Project Nia; Researcher, Interrupting Criminalization
• Miski Noor, Co-Director, Black Visions Collective
• Rachel Herzing, Program Officer, Wellspring Philanthropic Fund
• moderated by Andrea Ritchie, Researcher, Interrupting Criminalization
Organized by the Black-Led Movement Fund, Communities Transforming Policing Fund, and Spark Justice Fund, Fund Safe Futures will bring together activists to reflect on the progress made in the past year and to share their vision for a path forward with strategies that we know can help us establish true and lasting community safety. They will also discuss the role philanthropists can fulfill to build a future in which communities of color—and all communities—are safe from police violence.
We are a nonprofit too. Donate to Giving Compass to help us guide donors toward practices that advance equity.
