Greater Lowell Community Foundation, Philanthropy Massachusetts, UTEC, and the Center for Effective Philanthropy invite you to join us for a conversation with CEP President Phil Buchanan and UTEC CEO Gregg Croteau moderated by Yolando Coentro, president and CEO of the Institute for Nonprofit Practice. They’ll discuss the themes of Buchanan’s new book, Giving Done Right: Effective Philanthropy and Making Every Dollar Count, exploring the challenges of giving to maximize impact. Among the themes they’ll explore are the damaging negative stereotypes many hold about nonprofits, the vital and under-appreciated role of nonprofit staff, the current backlash to “elite philanthropy,” and the challenge and opportunity of philanthropic giving to maximize impact.
This program is ideal for philanthropy and nonprofit professionals and individual donors alike. Greater Lowell Community Foundation CEO Jay Linnehan and Philanthropy Massachusetts Executive Director Jeff Poulos will offer introductory remarks. Registration is complimentary and a light breakfast (catered by Cafe UTEC) will be included.
We are a nonprofit too. Donate to Giving Compass to help us guide donors toward practices that advance equity.
