How is your Organization Cultivating the Next Generation of International Grantmakers? Brown Bag Lunch

Philanthropy New York

About

Encouraging and cultivating the next generation of grantmakers is an important yet often overlooked area. For grantmakers to be effective they need to understand not only proposals, budgets, and performance matrix, but also the local context, cultural norms, and political environment. However, professional development opportunities are often not readily available to new or junior program staff. This is particularly challenging for those working in international grantmaking in Africa.

The International Grantmakers Network of Philanthropy New York invites you to a brown bag lunch (bring your own!) to explore how the Africa Grantmakers’ Affinity Group (AGAG) is working to cultivate the next generation of Africa grantmakers.

AGAG was founded on the belief that effective grantmaking requires an understanding of the context of the issues and communities where philanthropy is looking to make a difference. Through AGAG’s Conference Fellows Program we provide an opportunity for program staff and graduate students in philanthropy to learn more about funding in Africa.

Free for members and their guests.
