Outdoor and nature-based programs contribute to a host of learning outcomes by engaging students in science, environmental, and place-based education. As the development of non-cognitive skills in students becomes increasingly important to parents, teachers, and informal educators, social and emotional learning (SEL) is emerging as a growing area of opportunity in nature-based programming.
This webinar will define SEL for funders, and will highlight relevant research, best practices, and measurement tools. Presenters representing national providers of nature-based programming will share their unique approaches to SEL, offering insights on their successes and challenges. Funders will discover how this field can support their own funding goals, and will learn about opportunities to advance and strengthen this work.
