As it became apparent that the COVID-19 virus would threaten the health and economic well-being of the nation’s most vulnerable, Brandywine Health Foundation took quick action and announced the creation of the Healthcare and Economic Relief Fund. The goal of the fund is to rapidly identify and address the urgent needs of the Coatesville community and our nonprofit partners. To double the impact of each donation to the new fund, the Foundation committed to match, dollar for dollar each contribution, withholding nothing additional for administrative costs.
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic brings clearly into focus the pre-existing disparities that exists coupled with the physical vulnerability and the economic hardship created by the close of businesses and the loss of employment opportunities for many in our community who survive from paycheck to paycheck. The Healthcare & Economic Relief Fund focuses on communities that were already left behind pre-COVID.
The Brandywine Health Foundation's mission is to improve the health and well-being of people who live and work in the greater Coatesville area by fostering community partnerships, by providing capacity building support, and by making grants to promote health equity, healthy youth, and a healthy community.
