The Shark Conservation Fund
About
The Shark Conservation Fund is a collaboration of philanthropists dedicated to restoring ocean health through sweeping shark and ray conservation. Our goal is to help maintain the vibrancy of the world’s oceans by halting the overexploitation of sharks and rays and to prevent extinctions through strategic, collaborative, and catalytic grantmaking. In doing so, we work to protect the world’s marine resources by promoting sustainable policies and robust and enforceable trade regulations.
SCF is uniquely positioned to achieve real and lasting change because we are the only dedicated shark conservation organization with a global strategy to apply positive pressure in an atypical way. We take a comprehensive approach by deploying the full policy cycle – research, regulation, and enforcement.

About the Host
Quite simply, we help donors create thoughtful, effective philanthropy. We do this by: providing advisory, management and implementation services for families, foundations and other philanthropic initiatives; by incubating innovative and early-stage nonprofits and donor collaboratives; and by sharing insights and producing publications on philanthropic approaches, strategies and practices.
