In 2013, MOVE was founded by a small group of dedicated students at The University of Texas at San Antonio to increase participation in local elections and since then has gone statewide to become one of the most effective voter registration and engagement groups for young people in the state. MOVE Texas understands that young Texans are the future, and their work aims to ensure they vote like it by building power in underrepresented youth communities through civic engagement, leadership development, and issue advocacy. With 43% of Texans under the age of 30 and 63% of the state’s population being people of color, MOVE knows that the path to transformational change begins and ends with the political education of young people.
