Open Arms Perinatal Services

Mission

Open Arms Perinatal Services provides community-based support during pregnancy, birth and early parenting to nurture strong foundations that last a lifetime. Open Arms has provided doula support to over 3,300 clients from communities with the highest rates of negative health outcomes. Our doulas provide culturally sensitive care and education before birth, during labor and delivery, and immediately after birth. In 2013, Open Arms became the first community-based doula program in the nation to achieve national accreditation by HealthConnectOne. Open Arms’s model was also recognized by the National Partnership for Women & Families as well as the Migration Policy Institute as a model that effectively reaches immigrant and refugee families.
