Support Community Development in South-East Asia

Host Organization: The Branch Foundationmdi-circle-small Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai, Thailand mdi-circle-small http://www.thebranchfoundation.org

About

At The Branch Foundation (TBF) we work directly with marginalized communities in Southeast Asia to achieve sustainable development through supporting education, capacity building, and renewable energy solutions. Through these grassroots endeavours, TBF offers support to populations outside the main scope of humanitarian aid such as ethnic minorities, at-risk youth, and refugees. We ensure high organisational transparency and that operational costs at kept at a minimum.

Need

Large organisations can often overlook small communities in Southeast Asia which still require assistance. This can be down to the fact that there are perceived ideas that situations have improved when in fact many of the same problems of exploitation, fear of violence and lack of opportunities are still very much prevalent in this region. As a small organisation, TBF relies on the generosity of individual donations rather than larger government grants to cover our project and operational costs.

Long term impact

This project guarantees that TBF staff can continue creating and implementing sustainable education, renewable energy and enterprise development projects in SE Asia. Our projects focus on ensuring that the communities with which we work are the agents of change and that the capacity building we provide them eventually leads to self reliance. By donating to this project, you are ensuring that marginalised people can take full advantage of opportunities available to the wider society around them.
