Build A Wall to Keep 47 Ugandan Children Safe

About

A high security wall needs to be built to ensure the safety of the 47 children currently living at the Children's Home in Namugongo, Uganda. The existing chain-link fence is in a bad state, and even if it was to be repaired, would be inadequate. Victory Child Care Project - Ty Cariad Children's Home is a childcare institution approved by the Ugandan Government. It currently looks after 47 children at the home, and their needs include love, security, food and nutrition, and education.

Need

Since the recent construction of new buildings alongside the Eastern boundary of the Children's Home, some people have gained entry to the grounds through the existing chain link fence. Once inside the compound they have access to all areas until they are identified and then confronted by staff. The children are very trusting, and without direction, would be unable to differentiate between an intruder and a visitor.

Long term impact

As well as the 47 children currently receiving care at the home, more children will benefit in the years to come from the safety and security provided by your contribution towards building this wall. Over 140 children have received residential care at the home since the beginning of 2016, and so the numbers of beneficiaries will increase year after year. Keeping everyone at the home safe and secure is a basic human right, and our top priority.
