Support Women and Girls' Leadership in Puerto Rico

Host Organization: Fundacion de Mujeres en Puerto Rico SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico https://www.fundacionmujerespuertorico.org/

About

Women, girls, and LGBTQ+ individuals are driving social transformation in Puerto Rico, reshaping communities through their leadership. Fundacion de Mujeres en Puerto Rico, the island's only fund dedicated to gender equity, proudly supports their efforts. We provide economic resources, structural support, and personalized training to strengthen their initiatives, foster leadership, and deepen community impact. By investing in their work, we advance gender equality and build a more inclusive PR.

Need

Less than 2% of the global philanthropic investment is allocated to addressing the needs of women and girls worldwide, in Puerto Rico is even less. This lack of investment reflects a neglect of their needs and aspirations, perpetuating gender inequality. The insufficient resources limit their access to education, healthcare services, skill development, and economic independence, excluding them from leadership roles both within their communities and in other social spaces.

Long term impact

By empowering women and community-led initiatives through financial support and strategic guidance, we enhance their ability to lead and access critical economic and social resources. This investment amplifies their voices and fosters community-driven solutions, driving sustainable systemic change. Strengthened leadership and advocacy not only benefit women and girls but also cultivate inclusive, equitable communities. This creates a sustainable foundation for social justice and equity.
