We are the American Red Cross. Sleeves up. Hearts open. All in.Supporting America's Military & Veteran Families American Red Cross services for veterans date back to World War I and remains consistent with the spirit of our congressional charter. Today, the Red Cross is proud to maintain our commitment to the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
In the Spokane area, in-person volunteer opportunities that provide comfort and build morale:
- Military Hospital and Clinic Programs - RN. LPN or Pharmacy Tech at Fairchild Air Force Base (4-hour shifts, M-F, between 7:00 am - 4:00 pm)
- State Home For Veterans - Reception and COVID Screening (4-hour shifts, M-F, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm)
- VA Hospital Program - Front Desk Ambassador (4-hour shifts, M-F, between 8:00 am - 4:30 pm)

All in person volunteer opportunities require a Red Cross background check and volunteer facility background check. Military hospitals require base access. That process can take up to 90 days.
