About Us

The Affiliate Board of the Leukemia Research Foundation (also known as the Jr. Board) is a vibrant group of young professionals dedicated to supporting the Foundation’s mission to conquer leukemia. Acting independently from the Foundation’s governing board, the Affiliate Board focuses on fostering social connections and leading impactful fundraising efforts. Members come together through networking, social events, and collaborative initiatives to advance research for a cure and improve the lives of those affected by leukemia.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals who are eager to contribute their skills and time to support our cause. Whether you have experience in fundraising, event planning, marketing, or simply a passion for our mission, we welcome you to join us.

While our offices are based in Northfield, IL, the Affiliate Board meets and hosts events exclusively in Chicago.

Requirements

  • Time Commitment:Times will vary by month from 0 to 5 hours.
  • Other Requirements:We ask that you commit to attending all our major events, including the ABC7 Gibbons 5K in June and our signature event in the fall. Additionally, we hold approximately eight meetings a year, which are a combination of in-person and virtual sessions.
  • Minimum Age:21

About the Organization

As the nation's largest nonprofit focused exclusively on funding leukemia research, our grants are accelerating the development of new and better treatments and an ultimate cure for leukemia.

Through our patient-centered approach, access to leukemia experts, and nationwide partnerships, our support programs help patients and their loved ones navigate every step of the cancer journey.
